Assalamualaikum brother,

I have a question regarding Tahajjud salat. In here, Adhan will be given in the Sydney area at 5:27 am. I work on Coles. In here, there is a masala mosque. They give Azan at 5:45 am. After give Adhaan in masala mosque, I start to pray Sunnah and than Farz all together. Now, If I pray Tahajjud between 5:27 am to 5:45 am is it valid? or do i need to pray before 5:27 am.?

Jazzak ALLAH

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

The time of Tahajjud expires at the break of Dawn (Subh Saadiq). Immediately thereafter, the time of Fajr sets in.

In some places, the Adhaan of Fajr is given as soon as the time of Fajr sets in. In many other areas worldwide, the Adhaan is delayed, and in spite of Fajr time setting in, Adhaan only takes place after a while. Tahajjud cannot be prayed in this period between Subh Saadiq and the Adhan of Fajr.

You will need to look at the time of Subh Sadiq in your own locality. Based on that, you will know until when you may pray Tahajjud.
