I have a problem related to istanjah after getting done with toilet. During intanjah i feel like water droplets from toilet are pouring on my body parts. In order to get myself i have to remove all my clothes from my body before going to toilet to get my clothes clean for namaz and also have to perform wash all my body parts after intanjah to get myself clean. I am very worried about this situation. I am also getting through medical treatment from psychologist.

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

It is not required, and in fact detested that you remove all your clothes when relieving yourself. You also do not have to wash your entire body.

When you are done with relieving yourself, first wipe yourself with toilet paper. Thereafter pour a little on your private organ. Then wipe. If you now feel that water is going onto your clothes, just ignore those thoughts. Because of your extreme thoughts convince yourself that you became clean with the initial wiping and water which was poured. So now when you are wiping, it is just to get thorough.

Once you are done, sprinkle water around your private parts or underpants and attribute the wetness you feel thereafter to that water. This is based on the following Hadith:

“جَاءَنِي جِبْرِيلُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَانْتَضِحْ ‏”

Prophet () said: ‘‘Jibraeel came to me and said: ‘O Muhammad! When you perform wudhu then sprinkle water over the private part’’ (Sunan at-Tirmidhi)

Continue with the treatment and also make a lot of Dua. Recite Ta’awwudh and La Hawla wa La Quwwata Illa billah as much as possible.
