Charity.
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu. My father’s sister in law stopped me from giving sadaqah to a lady , as the beggars around my colony are most probably fake. Although she allowed me later to give her charity , but the lady then started demanding blankets etc due to this reason she told me not to say anything and turn away from her , I did what she said( I’m 19 and I live in a joint family and I need my family members permission before giving anything to anyone). So my question is did I sin by not meeting the demands of the lady ?

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Since you are convinced that the beggars in you colony are fake, you did not sin by refusing that lady. You are not obliged to give her whatever she asks for. In fact, if you know for sure that she is not need, then rather give your funds to those who are really struggling.
